“I only planned to attend the Intro. Then tell my friend right away that CrossFit is not for me.”, says Nur who attended Primal Ape’s trial class out of courtesy to her friend.

Nurzada Azhigaliyeva, a Kazakh expat for a company based in Makati, says that CrossFit training was never one of her objectives here in the Philippines. If it were not for the persistence of her friend, she would never have set foot inside a CrossFit box.

‘During the trial class, I stopped right after the warm up, thinking I was done.' Nur exclaimed. Soon right after, a strong gut feeling overcame, telling her to go back and finish the workout.

A month later, Nur came back and signed up for a membership.

Coach Trever saw Nur’s consistent efforts as she attends regular evening  schedules. “Nur deserves to be the Athlete of the Month for September, as she represents many of our regular members who walk into our box  not knowing CrossFit but are now loving the program.  Like these members, Nur puts 100% heart and effort into each WOD.”

'My objective back then was only to lose weight.  Since then, I have lost 4 kilograms because of CrossFit and I am happy with that achievement.' Five months into training, Nur now aims to become stronger. And she believes that it won't be achieved by just trying but through consistency and perseverance.

Asked if she had any regrets "My only regret was not been able to start earlier".
