Zoe Pond-McPherson, Primal Ape’s resident gymnastics, mobility, and CrossFit coach bagged the gold in the Elite Women’s Division of the Asia Championships 2016 which ran from July 9 to 10 in Seoul, South Korea.  This win comes fresh after her victory at the Under Armour Test of Will – Southeast Asia last May 28 at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore.

“Winning back to back is pretty awesome, but it didn’t come easy. I had to fight for both wins but that’s what made it fun. I’m competitive and I love competing with others to push myself to my limits”, Coach Zoe said.

Coach Zoe bested 33 other female athletes from all over Asia. She completed eight events in which she finished in first place twice and in second place, thrice. (Events and Leaderboard can be viewed here: http://www.asiachampionshipsofficial.com/finals/)

“In the seventh event, I literally went head to head with Yuko Sakuyama of Japan to a sprint to the finish line. It was the most fun I had all weekend”, recalled Coach Zoe.

For Coach Zoe, joining competitions is not all about winning. It should be about hard work and having fun. Here’s her message to her proud students of Primal Ape CrossFit:

“Keep putting in the hard work and don’t give up when you don’t win. Use it to fuel your fire. And most importantly, have fun! If you’re not having fun, it’s not worth doing”, she said.

Congratulations Coach Zoe!  Your Primal Ape family is extremely proud of you!
