For law student Genesis Irao, studying Lady Justice’s scales is a weighty undertaking. Being in the library, reading cases and preparing for exams can leave one inactive, and reaching for easy comfort food. So when this young companero saw Primal Ape’s free intro class - it was a trial he couldn’t refuse. “It isn’t boring,” he beams, “everyday is different, a new experience. There is always something to look forward to.” Besides the rotating Workouts Of the Day (WODs), the 25-year-old also cites Primal Ape’s wide open space as clear motive for joining. “Even with 20+ people, it doesn’t feel cramped. Group exercise remains fun, and safe. The relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to make new friends.” What finally convinced him to sign-up however, was irrefutable evidence. “I judge workouts based on effectivity. In less than a month I’ve lost 5 pounds and have better endurance, even without an altered diet.

So what’s next for Genesis? “Hmmm, lately I’ve switched from 6:30 am to 12pm classes - my version of a power lunch. It feels good, working out midday, for me,” he muses, before smiling “I’m also looking forward to the (soon to open), coffee shop and triathlete’s store - something to take workouts to the next level.
